I enjoy both methods, but find I’m exploring etc.

Usually if I’ve been playing on controller for awhile I’ll let my inventory go to all hell, and then I’ll spend some time sorting everything again once I’m back on the mouse and keyboard. Inventory management on the controller is bad compared to mouse and keyboard. Combat is radial-wheel based, so not bad, but not as fast moving as it can be on PC with so many more hot keys, buttons, and onscreen icons available. that make things make more sense for new players.

I much prefer exploring / walking around with a controller as it feels more like a standard third-person RPG.Ĭombat is okay, but if you’re not super familiar with D&D rules, the controller UI hides a lot of the useful tooltips etc. I’m about 60 hours in and have mostly played with a controller (Xbox controller, usually with my MacBook plugged into my TV so I can play in 4K, or via Steam Deck).
